The famous hill station Darjeeling has been called the queen of hill-stations. This town is famous for its tea industry and the Darjeeling Himalayan Railway, a UNESCO World Heritage Site across the globe.

The dense, semi-evergreen, temperate and alpine forests mainly consisting of sal, oak trees are really beautiful. Ten day Darjeeling Carnival held every year in winter portrays musical and cultural heritage of Darjeeling. Toy train that runs between New Jalpaiguri and Darjeeling increases the craze of visitors.

Jaldapara Wildlife Sanctuary:

Darjeeling welcomes migratory birds from Tibet too besides, species of ducks, teals, plovers and gulls. The animals as one-horned rhinoceros, elephant, tiger, leopard and hog deer and birds like Bengal florican and herons are seen here.

Lloyd's Botanical Garden:

The garden spreads in 40 acres preserves many rare species of plants. This colourful garden has the wide variety of rhododendron, magnolia, orchids, alpine flowers and medicinal plants. The garden also has an Orchidarium.

Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park:

It is also the shelter house of endangered Himalayan species. The park is the conservation and breeding ground of these.

Tiger Hill:

What better than having a glimpse of rising sun between the Himalayan mountains!! The site, Tiger hill situated at the height of 2590 metres offers a unique experience of the sunrise and has earned it an international fame. Mount Everest and Kanchenjunga range can be seen from here.

The Observatory Hill:

A revered temple complex situated at this hill makes it really religiously important for both Hindus and Buddhists.

Tea Gardens:

Tea Gardens are exclusive to Darjeeling. There are about 70 tea gardens in this hill region. One can see the actual process of manufacturing of Darjeeling Tea.

Buddhist Monasteries:

Numerous Tibetan Buddhist Monasteries are dotted in and around Darjeeling. Yiga Cholling Monastery at Ghoom constructed in 1875 is the oldest among all. The Samten Cholling Monastery, Drukpa Kargyud Monastery; also known as Dali Monastery and Bhutia Busty Monastery are the other major monasteries. Japanese Peace Pagoda: Japanese Peace Pagoda is a recent landmark of Japanese Monks since 1992 and the view of the town from here is stunning.

Natural History Museum:

Tenzing Norgay (Sherpa) founded Himalayan Mountaineering Institute in 1954. This Institute aims to impart mountaineering skills to the enthusiasts.

The Lebong Race Track:

The 8 km long racetrack from Chaurasta is the world's smallest yet highest racetrack.

Victoria Falls:
